Stampin' Stars blog hop

So it is finally here. New Annual Catalogue 2013-14!  Excited much?!  There is so much in here, I am telling you I can't wait to get my order in and make so any things!

Highlights for me are the bundles available.  Stamps and punches/dies together, which save you 15% from if bought separately.  And they are all so usable - they can be turned to so many styles.

Another highlight is the new colour collections.  Not only are there 5 new In Colors but the whole base families have been revised and we have lovely ones like Smokey Slate, Crushed Curry and Pear Pizazz.

To whet your appetite, I am taking part in a blog hop with other demos in my group.  So, have a look at some things I have created using brand new, not before available, Stampin' Up! products, then click through using the Next button at the bottom to see more ideas and projects from fellow demonstrators.

I have made some gift bags and little cards for my son to give his nursery school teachers when he leaves in a couple of weeks.  I hope you can see how this Gingham Garden range can be used for both cards and 3D crafting - and those vibrant colours.  Oh the colours!  Don't they just scream 'happy'?

Gift box

After some browsing online I found some inspiration about a different way to use the SU Mini Milk Carton die (117310). It is extremely cute in its original form, but did you know you can also use it to make a six sided box?

In its original form it can make something like this ...

But there are also tutorials to stick two of the templates together to make something like...

I used Raspberry Ripple paper as the card base, and then Old Olive and Pretty In Pink to frame the stamps.
The ink is Crumb Cake and I punched the circles using a 3/4" circle punch.
And the stamp set is Lovely Little Labels. And don't forget the Whisper White twine at the top!

I also needed the paper cutter, score board, paper piercer and stamp cleaner.

If you would like to learn how to make this in a workshop then please contact me via email or the Facebook page to find out dates!

This & That

Stampin' Up! are launching a new range in the UK today called This & That.  It is a junk journal / smash book line of products (if you don't know what that is then just ask or keep an eye out for workshops with me).  It is informal scrap booking, basically. Anything goes, just record what ever means something to you.

Click here for a video that shows you more.

You will be able to see the items individually in the next catalogue, or take a look at the flyer at the end of this post.

But just for the month of May, if you order the starter bundle (consisting of all the new T&T products) you get it at 15% off!  This offer will end June 1st.  The item number is 133905.

And remember, I STILL include my Makin' Craft 10% off your total order in this offer.  So if you order this before the 31st May you will receive a whopping 25% off of the future catalogue price! Now that's something to smash about!

My first make

I could rave for too long about the box of stuff that arrived at my door today.  Let's just say it was a little under 10kg of kit!

So I started playing around.  And here is what I made...

It is from the Boutique Boxes Bundle (131104) in the Spring/Summer book.  Everything to decorate 8 adorable boxes in in there, more stuff than I have used on this first box.

The back of the box. Bare in mind this is the first Stampin' Up! item I have EVER made, I am pretty pleased!  Now to choose designs to make 7 more...

At the moment I am using it to store the little note cards that come in the set.

When I saw the kit in the book, I thought the buttons looked a little plastic and cheap looking, but now it is here I am so glad I got it because they aren't at all. They have a kind of glass effect.  I chose the version of the bundle with the stamps included and again, I am very pleased I did that. There are three little phrases, which I will show you when I have made up some more of the boxes.

Enough raving for one day? I think it will do.

Big day!

My SU starter kit is due to arrive today and I am so excited!

I have been tracking the parcel on UPS across Europe and I just hope it comes fairly early today so that I can take Oliver out to enjoy some of this gorgeous sunshine.

When the box comes there may be a squeak of delight coming from my flat and hopefully the baby won't decide he needs attention right at that moment! Hahaha

New colour range

Stampin' Up! are revamping their core colour range.

If you are new to them and don't know, they co-ordinate their products into colour families so that crafting beautiful items is possible for everyone, no matter your experience. And finding perfect combinations is as easy as can be.

Every three to five years they pledge to review the colour families so that we as customers always have the most interesting and useful materials. Since this policy was launched in 2010, it is time for the first revamp!

In the next Annual Catalogue (launched this summer) there will be some new editions and some retiring as you can see on the chart.

If you love any of the discontinuing colours, then now is the time to stock up on inks, papers, pens, and all sorts of accessories!

And remember my 10% off promotion which will continue until the end of May. Then they are gone for good! But lots to look forward to as well.
